Artist’s Books

What is an Artist’s Book? – an art object – a structure containing imagery and sometimes text sometimes not – open or closed it carries meaning sometimes stated sometimes implied – it refers to the history of the book form as an object of communication – something to be held handled read deciphered treasured – we have an interaction with the form as a structural object containing words symbols visual imagery – when we make an artist’s book we reconnect and innovate with a centuries-old form – the universal language of the book form the opening page the cover the binding the containment of a story or ideas of something new unheard unspoken unseen now shared now seen now heard all the wonderment of that universal memory is carried through in each artist’s book for the viewer to experience as a sensory delight – I consider my artist’s books as created forms to contain and share selected ideas and images and words that are part of my life as an artist and human being – poetry, prose, art, history, philosophy, spirituality – a way of being in the world that connects to a past still tangible through the mists of time…

Each of my Artist’s Books are completely original and unique and so are not for sale.  However, if you have a specific request I can replicate to the best of my ability, and cost per individual piece depending on time and materials.
